Yengai
Ingredients
- badane kayai(brinjal)-1/4 kg
- coconut fresh or kobbari -1/2 cup (or both little)
- tamarind -lemon sized soaked
- gojju powder(or fry fresh powder)-1 to 2 tblsp
- oil-3 to 4 tblsp
- bella-small lemon sized
for powder
- kadale belle-2tblsp
- uddina belle-1tblsp
- jeerigae(jeera)-1/2 tblsp
- corriander seeds(dhania)-1/2 tsp
- red chilles-8 to 10
- pepper -3 to 4
- yellu (til seeds) -1 tsp
- hing -a little (granules)
- menthya-1/2tsp
Method
- fry all ingredients mentioned for powder adding 1tsp of oil.powder it together
- # grind powder,coconut,tamarind.in a mixy
- heat oil add sasivae, jeerigae,curry leaves,let it splutter
- put badane kayai & fry.add a pinch of haldi let it be soft
- add ground paste
- to the fried badanae kayai
- add salt ,bella (jaggery)- lemon sized
- add water to goojju consistency
- boil well
