Uddina Vadae


  1. uddina belle(black gram dhal)-1 cup
  2. rice powder-1 handfull
  3. oil-for frying
  4. salt-to taste
  5. black pepper -few
  6. ginger-1'' piece
  7. green chilles-3 to 4
  8. curry and corriander leaves-few


  1. soak uddina belle in water for 2 hours,drain water completly,grind to a smooth frothy paste ,with out adding water
  2. add salt,rice powder,and other ingredients
  3. using wet hands,shape little dough into a ball and then pat on top of plastic sheet
  4. put a hole in the center
  5. deep fry in hot oil till brown and crisp

or you can put a lemon sized dough directly into oil and fry

  1. serve hot with sambar
