Tomato Onion Bhath
Ingredients
- tomatoes-4 to 5 (big ones)
- onion-5 to 6 (big ones)
- rice-1 cup
- cloves ( lavanga)-4
- dalchini( cinnamon)2'' — pieces
- jeera-( cumin seeds)— 1 tblsp
- green chilles-2(slit length wise)
- ginger-garlic paste-1 tblsp
- red chilli powder-1 tsp
- garam masala powder- 1 tsp
- ghee- a little
- oil-2 to 3 tblsp
- water -1 1/4 cup
Method
- wash and soak rice for 10 minutes in water ,strain it.
- peel onions,and cut onions and tomatoes into small pieces
- heat oil in a pressure cooker once hot enough,add jeera,lavanga,dalchini,sauté for a while.
- then add ginger garlic paste,green chilles,and onions fry for a while add tomatoes,powder masalas,salt ,ghee.
- Keep stirring
- add water,when it starts boiling add rice and mix well.
- close the cooker lid and cook till done or cook for 1 whistle
- Remove from heat
- Once the pressure reduces
- remove the lid,and mix the rice care fully and gently and serve hot.
