Sweet pongal

Ingredients

  1. rice- 1 cup
  2. hesaru belle(moong dhal)-1/2 cup
  3. bella(jaggery)-1 1/2 cup
  4. water-1/2 cup
  5. drakshi- 1 tblsp
  6. godambi-1 tblsp
  7. ellaki powder-1/2 tsp
  8. ghee-1/4 cup

method

  1. cook dhal and rice together in pressure cooker with 4 1/2 cups of water
  2. heat bella with water till it melts
  3. add cooked rice dhal to that in a medium flame
  4. add kesari and lavanga boil for few minutes
  5. heat ghee fry drakshi,godambi
  6. add to pongal mix add ellaki powder.
