Sponge Cake

FIRST RECIPE

Ingredients

  1. self raising flour(maida sifted with 2 tsp of baking powder)-2 cups
  2. butter-2 cups
  3. powdered sugar-1 cup
  4. vanilla essence-1 tsp
  5. eggs-4
  6. salt-a pinch

Temperature-180*c

Method

  1. place butter ,sugar vanilla essence in a glass bowl,beat well until light and fluffy
  2. add eggs one by one,beating well after each addition
  3. sift maida ,salt ,and fold into egg mixture,beat well.
  4. pour the batter into a buttered and floured baking tin.
  5. bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake springs back when touched with fingertips

SECOND RECIPE

Ingredients

  1. maida-100gms(1cup)
  2. powdered sugar-1oogms(1/2 cup)
  3. butter-100gms(1/2 cup)
  4. egg-3
  5. baking powder-3/4 tsp
  6. vanilla essence-1/2 tsp
  7. corn flour-1 tblsp
  8. milk as required-1 or 2 tsp
  9. salt-a pinch
  10. can add tutti-fruitti,raisins

Method

  1. sieve maida,baking powder,salt ,corn flour together thrice.
  2. cream butter and sugar to light and fluffy.
  3. add egg one by one beating all the time along with essence.
  4. add maida little by little beat well
  5. pour to a greased and dusted tin
  6. bake at 180*c for 40 minutes or till done,in pre heated oven.
