Sponge Cake
FIRST RECIPE
Ingredients
- self raising flour(maida sifted with 2 tsp of baking powder)-2 cups
- butter-2 cups
- powdered sugar-1 cup
- vanilla essence-1 tsp
- eggs-4
- salt-a pinch
Temperature-180*c
Method
- place butter ,sugar vanilla essence in a glass bowl,beat well until light and fluffy
- add eggs one by one,beating well after each addition
- sift maida ,salt ,and fold into egg mixture,beat well.
- pour the batter into a buttered and floured baking tin.
- bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake springs back when touched with fingertips
SECOND RECIPE
Ingredients
- maida-100gms(1cup)
- powdered sugar-1oogms(1/2 cup)
- butter-100gms(1/2 cup)
- egg-3
- baking powder-3/4 tsp
- vanilla essence-1/2 tsp
- corn flour-1 tblsp
- milk as required-1 or 2 tsp
- salt-a pinch
- can add tutti-fruitti,raisins
Method
- sieve maida,baking powder,salt ,corn flour together thrice.
- cream butter and sugar to light and fluffy.
- add egg one by one beating all the time along with essence.
- add maida little by little beat well
- pour to a greased and dusted tin
- bake at 180*c for 40 minutes or till done,in pre heated oven.
