Shankara Polli


  1. maida-2 cups
  2. chiroti rava(fine rava)-11/2 cup
  3. ghee or vanaspathi-2 tblsps
  4. salt-a pinch

refined oil -for frying


  1. mix together maida and chiroti rava in a bowl,add salt and ghee rub well,till everything blends
  2. sprinkle water and knead like a thick "chappathi" dough
  3. roll out into 1/4 inch thick chappathi,and cut into small diamonds
  4. deep fry in hot oil till crisp and golden
  1. cool in a colander and store in an air tight container


for sweet one ,can sprinkle sugar powder on shankara polli
