Ragada pattice

INGREDIENTS

FOR PATTICE

  1. potato(cooked and mashed)-4
  2. bread slices-4 to 5
  3. salt-1/2 tsp
  4. oil-for frying

METHOD

  1. take mashed potato in a bowl,add bread slices(dipped in water and squeezed),add salt,mix well
  2. can keep in fridge for some time.
  3. divide into small balls,flatten them like tikkies,shallow fry or deep fry to light brown.

FOR RAGADA

  1. dry green peas(soaked overnight)-1/4 kg
  2. green chillies(chopped)-4
  3. ginger-garlic paste-2 tsp
  4. salt-1 tsp or to taste
  5. onion(chopped)-1
  6. turmeric powder-1 tsp
  7. dhania powder-1 tsp
  8. red chilli powder-1 tsp
  9. amchur powder-1/2 tsp
  10. sweet chutney-1 tblsp
  11. tomato puree-1/2 cup
  12. oil- 2 tblsp
  13. jeera seeds-1 tsp

METHOD

  1. pressure cook peas.
  2. take a hand full of peas and mash it to paste
  3. heat oil in akadai or pan,add jeera,onions,fry a little
  4. add chopped green chillies,tomato puree,dry masalas,salt,keep frying
  5. add cooked peas along with 1 or 2 cups of water,add mashed peas also.
  6. cook till thick
  7. serve with pattice

TO SERVE

  1. place pattice in a plate
  2. pour ragada over it
  3. sprinkle some finely chopped onion,sweet and green chutney,chooped corriander leaves
  4. serve immediately
