Nimbae Kayi Uppina Kayi


  1. nimbae hannu(lemon)-4 cups or 20 lemon
  2. salt-1 cup or as per requirement
  3. turmeric powder-2 tsp
  4. uppina kayi pudi-to taste


  1. wash lemon,spread on a cloth to remove excess moisture and then cut into small pieces
  2. take a bottle or plastic box ,spread a handfull of salt at the bottom,then add lemon pieces,again salt,and lemon pieces alternatively
  3. squeeze juice of 5 to 6 lemons,add to the bottle.
  4. close the lid.
  5. keep for 6 to 7 days,or till salt is dissolved completly

note can add green chilles,mangai shunti,hagala kayi,green pepper corns at this stage

  1. add uppina kayi pudi,turmeric powder,hing-1 tsp
  2. mix well .
