Midi Mavinakayi Uppinakayi


  1. midi mavinakayi(small variety of green mangoes)-1 seru(4 cups)
  2. salt-1 pavu(1 cup)
  3. accha menasina pudi(red chilli powder)-1/4 pavu
  4. turmeric powder-1 tsp
  5. sasivae(mustard seeds)-1 tsp(raw)
  6. menthya(methi seeds)-1 tsp(raw)
  7. hing-1 tsp


  1. wash the mavinakayi and spread on a cloth to remove excess moisture
  2. add salt, and mavina kayi together and keep in a bottle or jadi.
  3. stir once in 3 days.
  4. after 8 to10 days,salt will become watery,and mavinakayi will be shrinked.
  5. remove that salt water a little,grind red chilli powder,turmeric powder,menthya,sasivae ,hing together in a mixy add to mavina kayi
  6. wash the mixy jar also with that rest of salt water and add to the mavina kayi mix well.
  7. pour into a jar.
