Majjige Huli


  1. kadale belle(channa dhal)-2 tblsp (soak in water for 1 hr)
  2. fresh grated coconut-1/4 cup
  3. green chilles-5 to 6
  4. jeerigae(jeera)-1 tblsp
  5. dhaniya (corriander seeds)- 1/2 tblsp
  6. black pepper corn - 3
  7. haldi(turmeric)-1/2 tsp
  8. curd-3 to 4 cups
  9. vegetables that can be used
    • soppu(greens)
    • aloo
    • hurali kayi(beans)
    • kumbala kayi (ash gourd)
    • gori kayi
    • tondae kayi
    • cucumber
    • can add fried bendae kayi


wash and cut vegetables,boil it till soft.

  1. grind the ingredients except curd and vegetables
  2. take boiled vegetable ,ground paste in a kadai, add salt
  3. add curd and boil well(can add little water if necessary)
  4. add curry leaves , also.
  5. heat ghee in a oggarane spoon add, sasivae (mustard seeds)and jeera after it splutters pour over majjige huli
