Majjige Huli

Ingredients

  1. kadale belle(channa dhal)-3 tblsp (soak in water for 1 hr)
  2. fresh grated coconut-1 cup
  3. green chilles-2 to 3
  4. Red chilli-1
  5. Ginger— small piece
  1. jeerigae(jeera)-1 tblsp
  2. dhaniya (corriander seeds)- 1/2 tblsp
  3. black pepper corn - 3 to 4
  4. haldi(turmeric)-1 tsp
  5. curd-3 to 4 cups
  6. vegetables that can be used
    • soppu(greens)
    • aloo
    • hurali kayi(beans)
    • kumbala kayi (ash gourd)
    • gori kayi
    • tondae kayi
    • cucumber
    • can add fried bendae kayi

Method

wash and cut vegetables,boil it till soft.

  1. grind the ingredients except curd and vegetables
  2. take boiled vegetable ,ground paste in a kadai, add salt .mix well.
  3. add in curd and boil well(can add little water if necessary) on medium heat
  4. add curry leaves , also.
  5. heat ghee in a oggarane spoon, once hot enough Add sasive (mustard seeds)and jeera after it splutters pour over majjige huli
