Kumbalakayi Dumrot

ingredients

  1. kumbalakayi(ash gourd)-1 cup(grated)
  2. sugar-2 cup
  3. ghee-1/4 cup
  4. kesari-1 pinch
  5. lavanga-2
  6. drakshi(raisins)-1 tsp
  7. godambi(cashew nut)-1 tsp
  8. ellakki (cardamom)powder-1/2 tsp

method

  1. boil grated ash gourd in a kadai without adding water
  2. when its becomes soft add sugar ,ghee, kesari,,lavanga
  3. boil for some more time keep stirring
  4. when halwa consistency comes add drakshi,godambi,fried in ghee
  5. add ellakki powder
