Koduballe
Ingredients
- rice powder- 4 cups
- maida(fried a little)-1 cup
- chiroti rava-1/4 cup
- hurigadale hittu- 1 handfull or 1 cup
- red chilles-40
- fresh coconut grated-1/2 holu(half)
- kobbari grated-1/2 cup
- curry leaves-few
- hing-1 tsp
- hot oil -4 big ladles or RG ghee-1 orange size
- salt-to taste
oil for frying
Method
- fry red chilles,curry leaves,hing with little oil grind along with little water to a smooth paste
- mix this paste with rice flour,maida,hurigadale hittu,and rava.
- mix well with hand
- add hot oil and mix well
- divide into 3 portions
- sprinkle water to 1st portion and knead the dough
- make small balls,and then roll out into koduble shape and join ends to form a circle
- deep fry in hot oil few at a time till crisp
- cool and store in air tight containers
VARIATION
Ingredients
- rice flour-2 cups
- chiroti rava-1/2 cup
- maida-1/2 cup
- coconut paste-100 to 200gms
- red chilli powder-1 tblsp
- hing -little
- jeera seeds-1/2 tsp
- salt-1 1/2 tsp
- hot oil or butter or RG ghee-50 gms
Method
- add hot oil or butter to the flour
- add remaining ingredients, make a soft dough
- prepare kodubale as mentioned above
