Kobbari Obbattu

ingredients for hurrana

  1. kobbari pudi(grated dry coconut)-1 cup
  2. powdered sugar-1 cup
  3. ellakki powder-1 tsp
  4. a little -milk or milk cream
  5. mix everything together along with little milk and keep aside

ingredients for kannaka

  1. maida-3/4 cup
  2. chiroti rava-1/4 cup
  3. turmeric powder-1 pinch
  4. dalda or refined oil-1 to 2 tblsp
  5. salt-a pinch

method

mix maida,chiroti rava ,salt,turmeric powder,oil .add enough water and knead to a soft dough.

  1. keep closed for some time
  2. knead again till dough becomes pliable

method for preparing obbattu

  1. prepare small lemon sized balls out of kannaka,fill hurrana inside and cover well on all sides to form a ball
  2. roll out into thin chappathis on a greased plastic or plantain leaf
  3. fry it on a hot tava on both sides after frying ,keep it on a flat plate side by side(do not stack on top)
