HuraLi saaru
Ingredients
set 1
- corriander seeds(dhania)-2tblsp.
- jeerige/jeera-1tbsp
- menthya (methi) seeds-1/4tsp.
- sasive(mustard seeds)-1/2tsp.
- menasu(black pepper)-6.
- red chilles-10
- dalchini-1/4''small piece. ++ note —can use saaru (menasina pudi) pudi-2 tblsp
others
- huralikalu-1cup
- tamarind-lemon size soaked.
- fresh grated coconut -1/2cup.
- bella-lemon size or 2tsp sugar
Method
1.fry set 1 of the above ingredients adding 1tsp of oil.powder it.
2.soak tamarind for a while
3.boil hurali kalu in pressure cooker adding 1tsp of oil & 1tsp of haldi powder.
4. take 2tblsp of boiled kalu,coconut,tamarind, powder (from step 1) ,grind it to a fine paste.
5. boil the grinded paste along with rest of the hurali kallu adding enough water till you get sarru consistency.add salt to taste.add bella. boil. add curry leaves.
6.finally take 1tblsp of ghee add1/2 tsp each of sasivae,jeerigae,hing powder . let it spluter. pour over saaru.
can add 1 onion while grinding(optional)
