gobi manchurian
INGREDIENTS
- cauli flower (gobi)-1/2 kg
- maida-2 tblsp
- corn flour-2 tblsp
- baking powder or cooking soda-1/2 tsp
- ajinomotto-1/2 tsp
- salt-1/2 to 1 tsp
- garlic -10 flakes(finely chopped)
- green chillies-10 to 15(finely chopped)
- ginger-1" piece(finely chopped)
- capsicum-1 or 2(finely chopped)
- sugar-1/2 tsp
- tomato sauce-1 tblsp
- vinegar-1 tblsp
- soya sauce-1 tsp
- red chilli sauce-1 tblsp
- oil-or frying
- bread crumbs- 1 tbsp or as required
- spring onions
METHOD
- grate gobi ,wash well and drain it(keep in hot water with salt)
- mix corn flour,baking powder,maida,salt,chilli sauce,ajinomotto,bread crumbs(if required add little water) along with grated gobi.
- divide into small balls
- deep fry in hot oil.
- in a cup mix vinegar,soya sauce,sugar,tomato sauce.
- in a kadai or pan,heat 2 tblsp of oil,add chopped ginger,garlic,green chillies ,capsicum saute.
- add all the sauces,saute well
- add fried balls saute well
- lastly before taking out from gas sprinkle 1 tblsp of water stir for a minute ,add spring onions
- serve hot.
VARIATIONS
- CAN ALSO DO WITH MIXED VEGETABLES(carrot,beans,cabbage)
RED CHILLI SAUCE
ingredients
- red chillies-12
- sugar-2 tsp
- vinegar-2 tblsp
- tomato puree-1/4 cup
- garlic flakes-12
- lemon juice-1 tblsp
- salt- to taste
METHOD
- soak chillies,garlic in vinegar over night
- grind with sugar tomato puree,salt,
- add lemon juice
- mix well
can also make use of market red chilli sauce
