ginger cumin syrup
INGREDIENTS
- jeera seeds-25 gms
- fresh ginger-25 gms
- lemon juice-1/4 cup(3 to 4 lemons)
- sugar-2 cups(heaped)
- water-1 1/2 cups
- lemon yellow colour-a pinch(optional)
- sodium benzoate-a pinch
METHOD
- dry roast jeera in a kadai
- grind jeera and ginger to a fine paste with 1/2 cup water.
- strain in cloth and keep.
- make sugar syrup (sugar-2 cups and water-1 cup) to one thread consistency and filter it.
- add this to ginger ,jeera mixture and boil for 2 to 3 minutes
- cool add lemon juice ,mix well and strain it.
- add colour and preservative .
- serve with 1 part of syrup with 4 parts of water.
