ginger cumin syrup


  1. jeera seeds-25 gms
  2. fresh ginger-25 gms
  3. lemon juice-1/4 cup(3 to 4 lemons)
  4. sugar-2 cups(heaped)
  5. water-1 1/2 cups
  6. lemon yellow colour-a pinch(optional)
  7. sodium benzoate-a pinch


  1. dry roast jeera in a kadai
  2. grind jeera and ginger to a fine paste with 1/2 cup water.
  3. strain in cloth and keep.
  4. make sugar syrup (sugar-2 cups and water-1 cup) to one thread consistency and filter it.
  5. add this to ginger ,jeera mixture and boil for 2 to 3 minutes
  6. cool add lemon juice ,mix well and strain it.
  7. add colour and preservative .
  8. serve with 1 part of syrup with 4 parts of water.
