black forest cake


  1. maida-200gms
  2. powdered sugar-180 gms
  3. salt-a pinch
  4. egg-6
  5. baking powder-1 tsp
  6. cocoa powder-2 tblsp
  7. vanilla essence-1/2 tsp
  8. corn flour-2 tblsp
  9. chocolate essence-few drops
  10. milk as required


  1. separate egg white and yolk.
  2. beat the egg white gradually adding sugar little by little.,beat till stiff.
  3. add yolk at one strech and fold well.
  4. add sieved maida,baking powder,cocoa,cornflour,salt,cocoa powder with essence,beatig all the time.
  5. pour the batter to a greased and dusted tin.
  6. bake at 180*c for 30 minutes in pre heated oven.


  1. whip 200gms fresh cream with 4 tblsp icing sugar on ice cubes till thick,fresh or tinned cherry (seperate juice and fruits,remove the seeds)few,grated chocolate(bar) 1/2 cup,mixed fruit jam(loosen the jam) 4 tblsp.


  1. sugar-1/4 cup,water-1/4 cup boil together,-cool,add rum 2 to 4 tblsp or to the tinned syrup,add the rum.


  1. cut the cake into 2 or 4
  2. soak bottom pricked cake with syrup.(4 to 6 tblsp)
  3. rest for 5 minutes
  4. spread some cream and cherries.
  5. spread jam to the other half cake reverse part.(back part)
  6. place on the cake.sprinkle syrup on pricked cake,spread cream,and cherries.
  7. decorate with chocolate gratings
  8. keep in the fridge for 2 hours and then use.
