Avalakki bisibelebath


  1. hesaru belle(moong dhal)-1 cup
  2. avalakki(beaten rice)-2 to 3 cups
  3. huli pudi or bisibelle bath pudi-1 tblsp
  4. vegetables-carrot,beans,peas,onion ,cabbage.
  5. tomato-1
  6. kadale kayi bija(ground nut)-1 tblsp
  7. tamarind paste-1 tsp
  8. kobbari(dry coconut)-2 tblsp
  9. haldi-1/2 tsp


  1. oil- 2 tblsp
  2. sasivae(mustard seeds)- 1 tsp
  3. jeera-1tsp
  4. hing- 1/2 tsp
  5. curry leaves-few
  6. red chilles-2


  1. boil hesaru belle adding little water and a pinch of haldi in pressure cooker
  2. boil vegetables also in cooker in a separate container
  3. in a kadai ,heat oil ,add seasoning one by one,when its stop spluttering, add boiled belle,add vegetables mix well
  4. add huli pudi ,tamarind paste mix well
  5. and also add kobbari ,salt , sugar-mix well
  6. finally add avalakki ,just mix it for 2 mins turn off the gas(stove)


no need to soak avalakki in water
