Avalakki Halbhai


  1. gatti avalakki(thick vareity)-1 cup
  2. fresh grated coconut-2 cups
  3. bella(jagerry)-2 cups
  4. ghee- 2 tblsp
  5. ellaki powder-1 tsp
  6. jaikai powder-1 pinch
  7. kesari strands-few
  8. drakshi and godambi-fried in ghee


  1. soak avalakki in water for 1 hour,drain water
  2. grind avalakki along with coconut to a smooth paste
  3. add bella,ground paste,ghee in a heavy bottombed kadai
  4. keep on stirring till you get halwa cosistency.
  5. add ellaki,jaikai powder,fried drakshi,godambi
  6. pour on a greased plate
  7. cool and cut into pieces
